This is likely the best way to schedule what games to watch this Saturday, with top talent on both sides of the football in the following games.
Both the Cyclones and the Sooners are coming off losses in Week 11. Each team’s loss is similar, stemming from throwing more interceptions and giving up big plays on defense. Expect both teams to clean up their play and keep this game close all the way down to the last play; and if we’re lucky, Lincoln Riley will give the QB job back to Spencer Rattler. Even though this is a home game for Oklahoma, Iowa State has likely been preparing for this match-up all season. Oklahoma also just showed Iowa State’s star running back, Breece Hall, the holes in Oklahoma’s defense that he can exploit to find the end zone.
Final Prediction: 35-28 Iowa State
The week 12 afternoon games are full of likely blowouts. It will be tough for the Razorbacks to compete with a Crimson Tide team that should be well rested and prepared after beating New Mexico 59-3. This is more an opportunity to see what we can expect to see in the Iron Bowl the following week and a chance to check out talent on both sides of the football that are expected to go in the first three rounds of the NFL draft. Expect big yardage plays to be limited with each team having a top safety in Alabama’s Jordan Battle and Arkansas’ Jalen Catalon. However, scoring will not be an issue for Bama. Even though they lost last week, LSU and Tyrion Davis-Price showed Arkansas that they don’t have a way to stop the run, as Davis-Price ran for 106 yards on 28 carries. It should be no problem for Alabama’s Brian Robinson to find the hole and keep the tide rolling.
Final Prediction: 35-10 Alabama
Likely to be the best game of the week and Leg 1 of 2 in the PAC-12 Championship, Oregon vs Utah. Expect both teams to bring their A-game to this one and keep your eyes out for defensive superstars on both sides of the ball. Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux and Utah’s Devin Lloyd each have 6 sacks on the season and a ton of tackles. Despite each team’s quarterback likely to be thrown to the ground at least once, each of these teams average 35 points a game and the PAC-12 after dark games are known for high scoring and to stay close. It should be no problem for each of these teams to score four touchdowns.
Final Prediction: 34-31 Oregon
